Une adresse que l’on aimerait garder secrète - mais ce serait injuste et égoïste !!! Le lieu est sublime: la grange rénovée est magique avec une superbe et immense pièce à vivre, de grandes chambres avec salle de bains privées et des terrasses et une piscine avec vue à couper le souffle sur la campagne environnante. Nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous! Un accueil formidable de Richard et Anna que nous remercions encore pour toutes leurs petites attentions. Bref, un très beau séjour qui a marqué aussi bien les grands parents, parents et petits enfants ! Belle continuation à Richard et Anna !

Notre séjour a Bor et Bar était très agréable, la grange est arrangée avec goût et confort. La vue est absolument magnifique et la situation du gîte permet de rayonner assez rapidement (1/2h environ) pour un certain nombre d'activités (cheval, canoë kayak, grotte, forteresse royale). Les propriétaires sont agréables, présents avec discrétion. Accueil de bon niveau avec de gentilles attentions. Un seul conseil : réservez !

Nous avons tout simplement adoré notre séjour. Pour commencer le gîte est FABULEUX. Il est encore mieux que sur les photos. La maison est ‘upside down’: les pièces de vie sont au 1er et les chambres au rez de chaussée. Le salon et la cuisine sont vastes et très bien agencés et grâce à la terrasse nous avions une superbe vue sur la campagne vallonnée avec un coucher de soleil à couper le souffle. Les chambres avec leurs salles de bain attenantes sont luxueuses: du travertin partout! La piscine est à quelques pas du gîte et a une vue splendide sur les champs et la rivière en contre bas. 

Ce que nous avons particulièrement apprécié: La gentillesse de Richard et Anna, leur sens inné de l accueil (le cake au citron, la confiture maison, la cave à vins où Richard a sélectionné des vins avec le pot où on lui verse l’argent) mais également leur discrétion afin que nous nous sentions chez nous. Les fleurs fraîches disposées dans toute la maison à notre arrivée, les différents coins extérieurs où se reposer et contempler le paysage (3 hamacs dans les sapins, une pergola en bambou avec une grande table,  une balançoire, une petite terrasse devant une des chambres principales et les transats au bord de la piscine). Nous étions 11 personnes dont 7 jeunes (10 à 17 ans) qui ont pu s amuser sans déranger les adultes! 

Les activités ne manquent pas: Randonnées pédestres à partir du gîte. Nous avons fait la balade du ruisseau de la mine: 2h30 et la randonnée à Najac entre foret et berges de l Aveyron:2h: attention ça monte et ça descend! Descente mémorable en canoë kayak à Najac (15 minutes en voiture), visite de Cordes sur ciel (30 minutes en voiture), bal du 14 juillet à Laguépie avec lancer de lanternes lumineuses (15 minutes en voiture), visite de la forteresse de Najac et son marché nocturne (mercredi soir),  course d orientation dans les hauts de Najac avec une dizaine de balises à trouver (AGAAC), accro-branche pour les plus sportifs avec une tyrolienne passant au dessus de la rivière et visite de l abbaye de Loc Dieu (35 minutes en voiture). Nous avons mangé à la châtaigneraie (Lagarde Viaur): crêperie avec musique live. 

Ce que nous regrettons: ne pas être restés 2 semaines! Nos jeunes sont unanimes: “c est quand qu on revient???”

Confinement Idéal

Nous avons passé un merveilleux moment dans la maison de Richard et Anna. Nous étions un groupe de 8 copines, tout a été parfait du début à la fin du séjour. Un cadre idyllique, une ancienne grange superbement rénovée, surplombant des champs, des arbres, rivière, et des fleurs à perte de vue, aucun vis à vis, de la tranquillité au maximum. La décoration est magnifique, conforme aux photos voir mieux, les installations sont luxueuses et rien ne manque. La piscine est très bien exposée, et bien sécurisée pour les enfants. Anna nous a fais profiter de cours de yoga dans le jardin, un moment à part que nous avons adoré. Et pour finir, le coin est sublime, digne d'un décor de film français, avec ses petits villages, ses vignes, rivières, vieilles fermes, maisons en pierre, villages médiévaux, restaurants typiques, ballades en kayak, escalade. Bref on ne s'est pas ennuyé une seule seconde, et avons également pu nous reposer dans les meilleures conditions. Merci à vous Richard et Anna!!

This is NOT your average Gite

Richard and Anna are definitely 5* hosts, helpful, courteous and there when you need them. The property itself is spectacular, and to repeat the comments of others, the pictures do not do it justice. Sitting on the terrace watching the sunset with a glass of local wine (selected by our hosts at very reasonable prices) is a moment unto itself, the colours slowly changing and the village in the distance turning from grey to dark to twinkling lights is a memory which is embedded in our minds. The property itself is obviously designed from conception to be functional, and welcoming and the addition of the interesting furnishings and decor just add to the enjoyment of being there. This is not your average gites this is almost like your home away from home. We were never far from beautiful, quaint villages that delighted the eye and challenged my driving (larger car, smaller streets). A visit to a local market is always a delight and those in this area never disappointed, especially the one in Villefranche-de-Rouergue where we entranced by some of the characters and their market stalls. We hope to have the opportunity to return in future years and experience this relaxing, get away from it all place. Richard and Anna, thank you.

Wide views, perfect sunsets

After many years of renting houses in France, we think we've found the perfect holiday rental. Though the pictures on the website are great, they simply don't do justice to this beautiful place. Wide views across the countryside with perfect sunsets; a sunny private terrace that even works when it rains; large comfortable bedrooms and well-designed bathrooms; a fabulous open-plan, spacious kitchen/diner/sitting-room and to top it all, a lovely pool perfect for cooling off. The owners, Richard and Anna, could not have been more helpful and kind. We were very sad to leave this special place.

Multi-generation family holiday

We had a wonderful two weeks at Gîte des Milans in July - joined by grandparents in our second week. It’s a truly beautiful house on a ridge above rolling hills, with glorious views from the bedrooms, kitchen and terrace, and such a sense of tranquillity and greenness all around. Brilliant river swimming spots very nearby as well as food markets and castles to explore. Our children (aged 3 & 5) adored the swimming pool, bunk beds, the wonderful spaces to play outside (with a swing, climbing frame and sandpit too). A really special place to stay for the whole family.

Our three week stay at Gite des Milans was absolutely, 100% incredible! Filled with simple luxuries and numerous small adventures, our family stay ( a group of 7, including four teenage children and friends) was highlighted by the elegant, spacious accommodations of the Gite, the incredible friendliness of our hosts, and the allure of the astounding French countryside, filled with small villages and hidden gems which our hosts, Richard and Anna helped us uncover. As many before us have said, 'the pictures, while stunning, don't even begin to capture the Gite's beauty and charm! We visited a nearby creperie on the River Viaur after swimming in said river, a local pub in St. Andre de Najac, attended local markets and festivals and basked in the incredible sunshine on our private terrace overlooking miles and miles of hayfields and rural countryside. Daily, we swam in the Gite's pool and enjoyed the cool, refreshing water. We loved cooking in the extremely well-equipped kitchen and sampling the local wines carefully selected by our hosts. We were so taken by our experience that we have already booked three weeks for next year. It was truly one of the most, if not the most, relaxing and purely enjoyable vacations we have ever had! Kudos to Richard and Anna! The Gite des Milans is one of the most amazing places we have every stayed.! Thank you and get in line!

Had the most amazing and relaxing time at Gite des Milans. The accommodation is outstanding. It's so tastefully decorated and very spacious. Everything you need is provided. We started everyday with hopping on the provided bikes to cycle to the nearby village to buy croissant and baguette. The nearby river is beautiful and great for swimming in or sitting by watching the wildlife. Richard was very kind and sorted out where we could canoe. There's plenty to do and see in the area, while also being quiet and peaceful The hosts are very helpful if you need anything but not intrusive.

Gite des Milans is an exceptional property which has been very tastefully renovated to a very high standard. The property is spacious, extremely well equipped, and is ideally situated to take full advantage of the peace and quiet of its rural location, but close enough to nearby villages and towns. The area is full of places to see, and there's plenty of choice for dining out. Richard and Anna are the perfect hosts, always on hand to provide help and advice when (or if) needed. We would not hesitate to recommend Gite des Milans, and hope to return at some point in the future.

Gite des Milans is in an absolutely stunning setting and the gite itself is absolutely beautiful. The photos make it look fantastic but it really is even more impressive first hand. We were two families spending a week at the gite with small children and it was perfect place to stay. Luxurious and restful for the adults and a very safe environment for the children. Richard ensured the gite was childproofed before we arrived with stair gates, cots etc as well as a great box of toys. There is also a fantastic play area outside and a large garden for running around as well as a pond with plenty of frogs to see! The weather unfortunately wasn't as good as we had hoped but it didn't actually make our stay any less enjoyable. We went on lots of lovely local walks, visited the nearby towns and vineyards as well as just hanging out in the wonderful gite. When the sun shone we had long lunches and evening meals on the terrace soaking up the view. Richard was a wonderful host and left us a fantastic home made carrot cake for the week as well as dropping off other home made goodies during our stay. Highly recommend a stay here and would love to come back again. 

Amazing Gite, Fantastic Hosts

This gite is even better than the pictures! It’s absolutely beautiful and fully equipped with everything you could need. It sits on the top of a hill with fantastic views and beautiful sunsets. It’s in a great location for exploring the area and there’s a good Intermarche plus bakeries, butchers etc close by. The hosts, Richard and Anna, are lovely and have thought of every little detail. They even provide a wine rack filled with a selection of excellent local wines (all around €5) - much better than some of the ones we tried from the Intermarche. Although they live next door they are helpful without ever being intrusive and had lots of excellent suggestions for eating out and things to do. We went canoeing and swimming in the Viaur, had dinner at the night market at Najac and visited Cordes-sur-Ciel and Albi. On the days we didn’t want to go anywhere, we were very happy relaxing by the pool and eating long lunches on the rooftop terrace. Huge thanks to Richard and Anna for making our week in the gite so enjoyable. I hope we come back again in the future!

Rest, play and rejuvenate in beautiful surroundings

We spent a wonderful week here this summer - two families with 3 teenagers and two children aged 7 and 11. As mentioned in other reviews, the pictures online really don't capture just how impressive this place is. Upstairs, the open plan living/dining/lounge is a beautifully designed double height room that takes full advantage of the amazing views. Downstairs, all the bedrooms have their own large bathrooms and are linked by a large hallway lined with bookcases and antique chairs. There is also a huge utility room where you can wash and dry clothes, and has useful things like a hairdryer and iron. The pool is set into the hillside. With ample loungers set around the patio and looking out over the valley, it is difficult to drag yourself away. The pool is slightly smaller than the standard size and it doesn't have a shallow end - a consideration if you have small children. There is a clever pool alarm in place for peace of mind. There is also a small play area with swings and slides for the little ones. Our youngest loved ambling around the field, finding bugs and lizards. The Gites layout is perfect for a large group - big airy spaces with long tables and comfy sofas when you want to spend time together, but also enough rooms and terraces to spend quieter time apart. For me, a number of things set this place apart. Firstly, the thoughtful and stylish finishing touches. From the vases of wild flowers and local antiques dotted around - to the musical instruments (complete with songbooks) and the rack of tried and tested wines from local vineyards, this Gite has the feel of a much loved home rather than a holiday rental. Then there are the views. Whether you are sitting by the pool, in the garden, or on the lovely rooftop terrace - all you can see (and hear) are the hills rolling down into the valley, wildflowers, forests and swooping swallows. By night, sitting on the candlelit terrace, the stars seem to curve around you. It really is impossible not to relax here, you can literally feel yourself unwind. And lastly there is Richard and Anna, who were the perfect hosts. Always responsive and helpful prior to the holiday, once we arrived they shared their local knowledge over a bottle of wine, recommended cycle routes, lent their bikes, and booked restaurants - while managing to maintain an impressive level of invisibility when not needed! They are wholly deserving of their rave reviews, and we wish them every success in the future.

Rénovation de grande qualité, spacieuse et bien agencée, confort assuré pour nous huit, cadre et exposition solaire très agréable. Propriétaires très sympathiques. Région offrant de multiples visites de petites villes pittoresques. Rivières pour se baigner et pratiquer kayak. Nous avons vraiment passé une très bonne semaine dans cette location dont le prix me semble adapté. Avons même préféré profiter de cette maison le dernier soir plutôt que d'aller au restaurant. Sans doute, le beau temps a renforcé mon appréciation positive.
